Exclusively developed
for Tarmac

It is the perfect alternative to thermal dollies or refrigerated trucks. A passive protection studied and developed specifically for ground handling needs able to protect temperature sensitve cargo up to 3 hours without producing any CO2.

la COUVERTURE Light version

la COUVERTURE light version, version has been developed to make the solution for the user easier to handle.

This version, lighter than the standard version of 25 kg, makes the handling of the upper part of the cover much more manageable, both, during its positioning and during disassembly.

This version is very suitable for protections on the tarmac instead of warehouse activities.

Protection for temperature-sensitive shipments

Temperature-sensitive shipments suck as perishables and pharmaceuticals need to be protected from temperature variations to avoid critical damage to the product during the handling phase on the airfield.

la COUVERTURE is designed specifically to protect temperature-sensitive shipments in extreme climate conditions – hot or cold – from the airport cargo warehouse all the way to the apron area and back.

Worldwide

Our sustainability concept is to reuse our products as much as possible. Thanks to our global repair station network we can offer to our customers repair activities that will least the lifetime of La Couverture for many years jut like airfreight containers.

Geolocalization

Managing several cover in a big airport can be a hassle. Specially if there are many and send on different aircraft locations on airfield.

As an optional we offer to our customers a geolocalization tracker able to show you through an app, where the several La couverture are located.

3-Hours protection

Ground handling procedures for perishables and pharmaceuticals are already mostly speed up procedure, nethertheless those temperature sensitive cargos are going to be exposed sometimes to critical weather conditions and exposed to extreme high or low temperatures.

La Couverture has been tested in real scenarios to protect up to 3 hours in severe conditions to help airlines and ground handlers to pretect time & temperature sensitive goods during the airport handling process.

Sustainability

Active refrigerated transport solutions (refrigerated trucks or thermal dollies) can be a good solution to protect sensitive shipments on Termac, but these have purchase costs, high extra maintenance costs and are powered with gasoline or rechargeable batteries, resulting in CO2 emissions.

la COUVERTURE is a passive thermal protection solution that is NOT creating any active CO2 emission. Aditionally, parts of the product are made with recycled material and are repairable, that makes our solution reusable and eco-friendly.

Easy to use & robust

Standard thermal covers are very light and designed to be placed under the ULD net and to be consumables. Multiple uses of these covers by airport handling can result in damage to the covers, which then need to be changed after a few months, or even more.

la COUVERTURE is a real airport equipment that has been developed to be reused many times. The different materials used make it robust and washable.

After several operational handling tests in different european airports, we defined the right weight, and size. The 2 pieces composing the solutions make the use of La Couverture very easy and operational friendly.

Effortless Protection in Action

Composition

la COUVERTURE is composed of 2 parts: the top and the side. Both are joined by several Velcro strips all around the ULD

Summer TEST

We tested la COUVERTURE light by subjecting it to a realistic summer scenario with direct sunlight. To make the test even more extreme, we put the product (thermal mass) at +20° C reducing the range from +20°C to +25°C. We have achieved thermal protection of up to 3 hours.

Winter TEST

For the winter scenario we exposed La Couverture light to extreme external temperatures.

To make the test even more stressing, we put the product (thermal mass) at +20° C reducing the range from +20°C to +15°C. We have achieved thermal protection of up to 2 hours.
